Full test walkthrough: Airport Gate Agent

Back to Tutorials

One real test, start to finish — 11 items in a row

Part A: Airport Gate Agent, boarding announcement. Part B: Reading and Media Consumption. The same shape, one more time.

Part A, sentences 1-3 — the easy opener

This test’s theme: an Airport Gate Agent’s boarding announcement. It opens simple, same as always.

Sentence 1

“Please have your boarding pass and passport ready.”

Skeleton: instruction → what’s needed — no place clause here either.

Part A, sentences 4-7 — the escalating ones

Response time grows from 11 to 20 seconds as the sentences add clauses. Chunk them as you hear them.

Sentence 7 (20 seconds to respond)

“Although this flight is currently on time, passengers with tight connections should speak to a gate agent, since the crew may need to prioritize certain transfers.”

2 chunks: a contrast clause + a reason clause.

Part B — Reading and Media Consumption, all 4 questions

Same shape every time: opinion → description → past event → opinion again.

Q1 (opinion)

“Do you prefer reading physical books or digital books? Why?”

Position, then reason, then example.

Putting it together

Reconstruct the skeleton in Part A instead of chasing exact words. In Part B, develop every answer with a reason and a specific detail until the full 45 seconds is used. Thirteen tests in, the shape is the one thing that never moves.
