Full test walkthrough: Education & Learning

Back to Tutorials

A second real test, start to finish — Education & Learning

Part 1: Studying & Learning. Part 2: a teacher who influenced you. Part 3: Education Systems. Same shape, one more time, new content.

Part 1 — Studying & Learning

4 real questions: “What subject did you enjoy most at school and why?” “Do you prefer studying alone or with others?” “How do you think your education has prepared you for the future?” “Is there a subject you wish you had studied more?”

Part 2 — a teacher who had a positive influence on you

The cue card: “Describe a teacher who had a positive influence on you.” Who this person was · What subject they taught · What made them special · Explain how they influenced you. A person-based cue card — plan one detail per bullet, then tell it in order.

Part 3 — Education Systems

4 real questions, abstract, connected to Part 2’s theme: “What do you think is the most important purpose of education?” “Should university education be free for all students?” “How has the internet changed the way people learn?” “Do you think exams are the best way to assess students?”

Putting it together, one more time

Same 3-part shape as every other test: personal and brief, then one topic fully developed, then abstract and reasoned. Two real tests in, the pattern is the one thing that never moves.
