Two modes now — Timed Test for the real thing, Practice to drill exactly what you need
IELTS Speaking now has two modes: Practice, where you can jump straight to any of the 3 parts, skip ahead within a part, or turn captions on — and Timed Test, which runs the real 3-part shape in order, with captions off.
Two modes now: Practice and Timed Test
Speaking now works like every other skill on this platform: a Timed Test mode for the real thing, and a Practice mode built for drilling exactly what you need.
Timed Test: real order, real timing, captions off
Timed Test runs the full three parts in order — Part 1, then 2, then 3 — at the real exam timing, with no jumping around. Captions are off here too, since the real exam doesn't give you any.
Practice mode: jump straight to Part 1, 2, or 3 — any time
Tabs let you jump directly to any of the 3 parts, instead of being forced through them in order — and inside Part 1 or 3, a locked question box is skippable too.
Only want question 3 of Part 1?
Answer questions 1 and 2 first, in order, to unlock it.
Click straight to question 3 — one click, no working through the rest first.
“Show text” — Practice mode only, remembered
A captions toggle shows each question as text while DEB asks it, available in Practice mode. It’s not locked to one part — turn it on once and it stays on, remembered for next time.
